I’ve been part of MID for three years now. Sure, team spirit exists everywhere, but there are loads of reasons why we are such a forMIDable team. It’s always exciting but a bit of a challenge to start as a new colleague in an existing team, just like it was for me in 2020. Looking back, though, I felt what it means to be part of MID from day one. Right from the start, I was warmly welcomed into a close-knit community and that made me feel at home immediately.

MIDlerinnen und MIDler versammeln sich auf dem Balkon des MID-Gebäudes

MID employees gather on the rooftop terrace of the MID building.

MID is passionate about making new colleagues feel welcome and find their feet quickly; that’s why they have a mentoring program. What’s special about it? Your mentor isn’t just there to answer work-related questions – they’re also there to help you find your feet at MID. Every month, mentor and mentee take time to catch up and chat. How and where that happens is totally up to you – whether it’s over lunch or in a more formal meeting.  The important thing is that it’s a space where you can talk openly and honestly. It was so helpful for me at the beginning to have a mentor to help me easily and quickly become part of this forMIDable team.

Besides mentoring, there are tons of employee events that help you feel part of the team quickly. As a consultant, you’re often on the road, working remotely with clients or from home, so you don’t see your colleagues that often. That’s why we really look forward to our regular get-togethers, as well as the usual summer and Christmas parties. Twice a year, we all meet up on the rooftop terrace with cocktails, pizza and snacks to wind down after work. It’s a great chance to meet people from other teams you don’t usually work with. We often find out we have the same interests outside of work too!

At one of my first get-togethers, I found out about the many sport groups MID has to offer and decided to try out the badminton and golf groups for myself. Now I regularly meet up with colleagues after work to play badminton or hit the golf course. So yeah, being part of a forMIDable team doesn’t just end in the office. It’s a team spirit you can still feel after 5 p.m., whether on the golf course or at the next after-work party.
