There’s no better place to find so many fresh ideas, expert knowledge and great conversations all in one spot. These events are packed with potential – and it’s totally worth soaking it all in and bringing that energy back to your own company. That’s exactly why we at MID love attending these events – both with our own stand and also as visitors. You’ve got to experience for yourself how inspiring these digitalization events can be.
REConf – New Methods, Trends and Tools in Requirements Engineering
Every year, MID has a stand and holds exciting talks at REConf. At the same time, many of our IT experts are there as attendees, soaking up the atmosphere. It’s a chance to listen to talks, join panel discussions and explore new methods in hands-on workshops. Topics like AI and agility are always front and center at REConf. Exactly the topics we’re passionate about as an agile consulting team. We always come across new approaches and methods, like the talk on Belbin’s team types. At the REConf, we even got to figure out our own team types together with other attendees.

Besides the expert talks, the keynotes and networking made a refreshing change from the usual workday. In a panel about agility and new work, I shared my view that agile principles and new work can really help build mutual understanding – and create a better work environment. There were tons of ideas for new training possibilities and discussions we could bring back to the office. We also shared our own project experience in a talk called “Don’t Let too Many Cooks Spoil Communication”. What really sticks with me is the personal exchange – getting to know colleagues as people and hearing what drives them.

Nürnberg Digital Festival
The Nürnberg Digital Festival is always a great event. I’ve been a few times now and every year I’m blown away by the variety and quality of the topics. The hybrid format made it easy to join remotely from the office when needed. But of course, there are loads of in-person events too – which is super convenient for us at MID since it’s right here in Nuremberg.
Topics like new work and agility were the buzzwords once again. I even joined a fishbowl-style discussion with people from all different areas, from IT to manufacturing, on “Agile Transformation in Germany – are we Falling Behind?”. We brainstormed ideas to counter that trend – and interestingly, most of them came from the new work concept, like feedback circles including those from management level. These help build trust and give more responsibility to employees.
Nürnberg Digital Festival brings together exciting topics, discussions and networking
We also contributed to the Nürnberg Digital Festival with our own talks on processes, project communication and agile project planning. We presented remotely, with sessions like: “Dive into the World of Processes with the Panda Family”, “Don’t Let too Many Cooks Spoil Communication in IT Projects” and “Agile Project Planning Made Easy – Practical Methodology”. Even though the talks were virtual, attendees could still ask questions and join the discussions afterwards.
The cherry on top? The Sustainable Conference at the end of the Nürnberg Digital Festival. I tried out a co-working space and really enjoyed chatting with people from other industries – a nice change from the usual home office routine. It was super interesting to see how non-IT sectors approach agility and what we can learn from other areas like social work.
I always come back from these events full of ideas and excited to bring new impulses into our company and client projects. Whether it’s REConf or the Nürnberg Digital Festival – it’s not just about the inspiration, it’s also a lot of fun to be part of these events and meeting so many interesting people. Then it’s time to roll up your sleeves and put those ideas into action in our dynamic everyday work at MID.
