What makes working at MID so special? Sure, exciting projects, agile teams, modern technologies and remote working make up part of it. But what goes on in between the meetings is just as important – being part of a forMIDable team. Being able to work as a team involves being able to talk openly to each other, camaraderie and sharing experiences together – not just within the working day. That’s why we’re going to give you two examples of how we like to spend our evenings together: at the round table and at the Erlangen beer festival. Both events bring colleagues together, regardless of whether you’ve known each other a long time or just started working at MID.

MID Round Table: A Get-Together
Svenja (People & Culture): I’ve always found the many social events great here at MID. When I first started, it was a great opportunity to meet colleagues from outside of my team in a relaxed atmosphere – the good food and drink was nice too, of course! I now organize the MID round table and love to be able to give new employees the same opportunity of meeting other colleagues.
The round table takes place regularly on an evening and everyone is welcome! We normally get together in a restaurant or one of Nuremberg’s many beer gardens if the weather’s nice or go bowling and see who can get the most strikes. I love it just being able to chat and have a laugh with colleagues and wind down after work. It’s not just small talk either; you can often have a really interesting chat with people you don’t have much to do with at work. Every evening highlights the fact that we don’t just work well together, we also enjoy spending time with one another. I firmly believe that a forMIDable team is formed through just such meetings and is super important for a good company culture. The next round table is coming up soon and it’s sure to be another great after work moment at MID.

Our Annual Trip to the Erlangen Beer Festival
Norbert (Product Development): Once a year we swap our swivel chairs behind our computers for benches, great atmosphere and festive music – once again it’s time for the traditional company outing to the Erlangen beer festival; a real highlight in the MID calendar! Always on the first Wednesday after Whitsun, we leave the office for the hustle and bustle of the beer festival. The beer festival is a highlight in the year for those who live in Erlangen – one which also draws the Nuremberg-based MID to the neighborhood.
It’s much more than just a happy visit to the fair. Its the chance to chat to colleagues outside of the office, get to know new colleagues and strengthen our team spirit. The clinking of beer tankards and the swaying to the music bonds you and creates a relaxed atmosphere that transfers itself to everyday office life.
You’re also spoiled for choice when it comes to what to eat and drink: half a roast chicken, a giant pretzel or perhaps a stein of beer! And it tastes even better when you know that MID has generously footed the bill. Born and bred in Erlangen, I love to see that more and more MID employees make the trip each year. The beer festival has always been something special to me, but now I get to share this with MID and it has taken on a new and special meaning. I’m already looking forward to the next beer festival and spending a great evening there with MID!

A relaxed round table or a traditional beer festival aren’t compulsory events; they’re part of our company culture.
